Phil Mickelson - (USA) HSBC Champions Sheshan International - Shanghai - China - 8th to 11th November, 2007 The World Nº 2, Phil Mickelson, won the HSBC Champions in Shanghai at second play-off hole to edge out Ross Fisher and Lee Westwood to claim his first overseas title in 14 years. The 37 year old American birdied the 538 yard 18th second time around to see off the challenge of the two Englishmen after all three players had ended the regulation 72 holes on ten under par 278. This win closed the gap between Mickelson and Tiger Woods to 12.44 points.

Miguel Angel Jimenez - (Spain) UBS Hong Kong Open Hong Kong - Fanling - Hong Kong - 15th to 18th November, 2007 Miguel Angel Jimenez claimed his victory at the UBS Hong Kong Open for the second time by a single stroke from Robert Karlsson, K.J. Choi and Thongchai Jaidee. The win took Jimenez back into the Top 50 with a 21 placemove to Nº 39.

Aaron Baddeley - (Australia) MasterCard Masters Huntingdale - Melbourne - Australia - 22nd to 25th November, 2007 Australian Aaron Baddeley ended his final round in a playoff against Daniel Chopra from Sweden. Two strokes back was his fellow Australian Stuart Appleby. This victory in Melbourne added to his European Tour wins to make a total of two.

Justin Rose - (England) Volvo Masters Club de Golf Valderrama - Sotogrande - Spain - 1st to 4th November, 2007 Englands Justin Rose won a three-way play-off after a dramatic final round of the Volvo Masters at Valderrama. Victory in the sudden-death play-off over fellow Englishman Simon Dyson and Denmarks Soren Kjeldsen. This was achieved with a birdie on the second extra hole. With this, his second win of the 2007 European Tour Season, Justin Rose won the European Tour Order of Merit and climbed 5 places to World Number 7.

Nick Dougherty - (England) Alfred Dunhill Links Championship Old Course - St. Andrews - Carnoustie & Kingsbarns - Scotland - 4th to 7th October, 2007 Englands Nick Dougherty added to his European Tour total with his win at St Andrews in Scotland. He ended with a two stroke lead over fellow Englishman Justin Rose, and with Rory McIlroy from Northern Ireland one stroke further back.

Ernie Els - (South Africa) HSBC World Match Play Championship Wentworth Club - Virginia Water - Surrey - England - 11th to 14th October, 2007 Ernie Els captured a seventh HSBC World Match Play Championship when he overcame US Open Champion Angel Cabrera by 6&4 in the final on the West Course at Wentworth Club, Surrey, England. The win took the South African up a place to World Ranking Nº 4 while Cabrera moved up four places to Nº 17.

Mads Topp Vibe-Hastrup - (Denmark) Open de Madrid Valle Romano Real Sociedad Hípica Española Club de Campo - Madrid - Spain - 11th to 14th October, 2007 Mads Vibe-Hastrup became the Danish winner on The European Tour when he won the Open de Madrid Valle Romano title by three strokes at the Real Sociedad Hipica Espanola Club de Campo. Vibe-Hastrup moved 156 places up in the Ranking to Nº 178.

Gregory Bourdy - (France) Mallorca Classic Pula - Son Servera - Mallorca - Spain - 25th to 28th October, 2008 Frenchman Gregory Bourdy carded a final round 67 for a 12 under par total of 268 and a two shot victory over England’s Sam Little at the Mallorca Classic at Pula GC. This maiden European Tour victory moved Bourdy to Nº 129 with an improvement of 91 places.

Brett Rumford - (Australia) Omega European Masters Crans-sur-Sierre - Crans Montana - Switzerland - 6th to 9th September, 2007 Australian Brett Rumford chipped in on the first extra hole to defeat Phillip Archer from England and take the European Masters title at Crans-sur-Sierre in Switzerland. Brett Rumford and Phillip Archer had finished on 16 under par 268, a stroke ahead of defending champion Bradley Dredge of Wales. Brett Rumford climbed 128 places in the World Golf Ranking to Nº 145.

Soren Hansen - (Denmark) Mercedes-Benz Championship Golf Club Gut Larchenhof - Cologne - Germany - 13th to 16th September, 2007 With two European Tours wins behind him Soren Hanson from Denmark sailed to his new victory with a four stroke lead over two rivals, Philip Archer from England and Alastair Forsyth from Scotland. Following this group and just one stroke back were Thomas Bjorn and Bradley Dredge.

Lee Westwood - (England) The Quinn Direct British Masters The Belfry - Sutton Coldfield - England - 20th to 23rd September, 2007 Lee Westwood won the Quinn Direct British Masters at the Belfry with a final round of 65 for a 15 under par 273 total securing a five shot triumph from Ian Poulter, who shot 70 for a ten under par 278. Lee Westwood climbed 13 places to 35th in the World Golf Ranking while Ian Poulter moved up 4 places to 27th.

Tiger Woods - (USA) WGC - Bridgestone Invitational Firestone - Akron - Ohio - USA - 2nd to 5th August, 2007 Tiger Woods as the World Number One captured another win the World Golf Championships - Bridgestone Invitational for the sixth time at Firestone Country Club, Ohio. An eight stroke victory over Englands Justin Rose and Rory Sabatini of South Africa. Tiger Woods extended his lead over Jim Furyk to 11.52 average points in the World Golf Ranking.

Per-Ulrik Johansson - (Sweden) The Russian Open Golf Championship Moscow - Russia - 9th to 12th August, 2007 Swedens Per-Ulrik Johansson claimed his first European Tour title for a decade with a six stroke victory in the Russian Open to climb 633 places to 253rd in the World Golf Ranking. Another winner was Magnus A Carlsson at the Challenge of Ireland on the European Challenge Tour.

Tiger Woods - (USA) US PGA Championship Southern Hills - Tulsa - Oklahoma - USA - 9th to 12th August, 2007 Tiger Woods showed some more form by winning his second European Tour this month at Tulsa in the USA. He led the field home with fellow American golfer Woody Austin two strokes back and Ernie Els from South Africa a further one stroke.

Mikko Ilonen - (Finland) Scandinavian Masters Arlandastad - Stockholm - Sweden - 16th to 19th August, 2007 Mikko Ilonen from Finland claimed his second European Tour victory of the year at the Scandinavian Masters played at Arlandastad GC in Stockholm, Sweden. The win took Mikko Ilonen into Nº 71 position with a jump of 47 places.

Ross Fisher - (England) The KLM Open Kennemer - Zandvoort - The Netherlands - 23rd to 26th August, 2007 Ross Fisher won the KLM Open with a birdie at the final hole for a closing three under par 67 and a 12 under par 268 aggregate, taking the title by a stroke from young Dutchman Joost Luiten. Ross Fisher jumped up 97 places to Nº 161.

Marc Warren - (Scotland) Johnnie Walker Championship Gleneagles - Perthshire - Scotland - 30th to 2nd September, 2007 Scotlands golfer Marc Warren picked up his second European Tour victory at the Johnnie Walker Championship at Gleneagles after a play-off with Englands Simon Wakefield. Marc Warren birdied the second extra hole to win and moved to Nº 124 and a rise of 67 places.

Colin Montgomerie - (Scotland) Smurfit Kappa European Open The K Club - Straffan Co. - Kildare - Ireland - 5th to 8th July, 2007 Colin Montgomerie picked up his 31st European Tour title when he won the Smurfit Kappa European Open by a stroke from Swedens Niclas Fasth over the Smurfit Course at the K Club. Colin Montgomerie improved his Ranking by 13 places to Nº 30, while Fasth climbed two places to Nº 20.

Gregory Harvet - (France) The Barclays Scottish Open Loch Lomond - Glasgow - Scotland - 12th to 15th July, 2007 Gregory Havret of France claimed victory in a play off with Phil Mickelson at The Barclays Scottish Open at Loch Lomond Golf Club after the pair had tied at 14-under-par. A sand save for par on the first extra hole was enough for Gregory Havret as Phil Mickelson made bogey after tangling with the bank of Loch Lomond from the tee. The win took Gregory Havret to Nº 115, a leap of 205 positions and earned him a start in this weeks Open Championship. Phil Mickelson moved back up one to Nº 2 and Ernie Els, who finished third, climbed up place to one to Nº 4.

Padraig Harrington - (Ireland) 136th Open Championship Carnoustie - Angus - Scotland - 19th to 22nd July, 2007 Padraig Harrington was the Open Champion after a thrilling climax at Carnoustie where he defeated Sergio Garcia by a stroke in a four-hole playoff after the pair had finished tied on 7 under par. In third place and just a stroke behind was Argentinas Andres Romero. Padraig Harrington moved to Nº 6 and equaling his highest ever Ranking. Sergio Garcia returned into the Top 10 as Nº 8 and Andres Romero climbed to Nº 51.

Andres Romero - (Argentina) The Deutsche Bank Players Championship of Europe Gut Kaden - Hamburg - Germany - 26th to 29th July, 2007 Andres Romero won the Deutsche Bank Players Championship of Europe at Gut Kaden in Hamburg, Germany, with a final round of 70 for a three stroke victory over Soren Hansen and Oliver Wilson. Andres Romero climbed to Nº 29 and to 13th in the standings for the International Team in the Presidents Cup.

Richard Green made a return to the World Top 50 with a 26 place move to Nº 37.

Niclas Fasth - (Sweden) BMW International Open Golfclub Munchen Eichenried - Munich - Germany - 21st to 24th June, 2007 Niclas Fasth followed his fourth place finish in the US Open with victory at the BMW International Open at Golfclub Munchen Eichenried on the European Tour. Niclas Fasth finished two strokes clear of local Bernhard Langer and Jose-Filipe Lima from Portugal. Fasth moved a further 6 places up to Nº 22.

Graeme Storm - (England) Open de France Alstom Le Golf National - Paris - France - 28th to 1st July, 2007 Graeme Storm from England overcame an overnight five-stroke deficit to win the Open de France Alstom title by a shot from 54-hole leader, Denmarks golfer Soren Hansen. Graeme Storm shot a closing round of five-under-par 66 for a seven-under-par total of 277 and climbed 82 places to Nº 123rd.

Gonzalo Fernandez Castano - (Spain) Telecom Italia Open Castello di Tolcinasco - Milan - Italy - 3rd to 6th May, 2007 Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano of Spain beat Austrian Markus Brier in a play-off for the Telecom Italia Open title - his third European Tour win. The Spaniards birdie at the second extra hole earned him the title after the pair had finished a stroke ahead of the field on 16 under par 200 after rain shortened the tournament. Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano climbed to Nº 117 and also gaining his first Ranking Points for 2007.

Westwood moved to Nº 48th in the Ranking with, a rise of 15 places.

Padraig Harrington - (Ireland) Irish Open Adare - County Limerick - Ireland - 17th to 20th May, 2007 Irishman Padraig Harrington added another win on the European Tour to his fine total in being the first Irishman to win the Irish Open. The last round ended in a playoff against Bradley Dredge from Wales leaving their nearest rival Simon Wakefield from England a good three strokes back.

Anders Hansen - (Denmark) BMW PGA Championship Wentworth - Virginia Water - Surrey - England - 24th to 27th May, 2007 Anders Hansen from Denmark won the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth Club, Surrey, on the first extra hole after he tied on eight under par with Englishman Justin Rose. Anders Hansens birdie on the 18th in the play-off was enough to deny Justin Rose who had made the play-off with spectacular birdie on the 72nd hole. Anders Hansen climbed to World Number 49, a rise of 102 places and with this win gained qualification into next months US Open.

Richard Sterne - (England) The Celtic Manor Wales Open Celtic Manor - City of Newport - Wales - 31st to 3rd June, 2007 Richard Sterne won The Celtic Manor Wales Open on the European Tour by a single stroke from a group of four players including Mardan Mamat who shot through the field with a final round 62 and Bradley Dredge whose 6 foot putt to force a playoff slipped agonizingly by the hole. Sterne moved to Nº 35, an improvement of 24 places and with it claimed a place in the 136th Open Championship.

Zach Johnson - (USA) Masters Tournament Augusta - Georgia - USA - 5th to 8th April, 2007 Zach Johnson shot a final round of 69 to win the Masters Tournament at Augusta by two strokes with a one-over-par aggregate of 289, holding off the challenge of the four-time champion Tiger Woods and South Africans Retief Goosen and Rory Sabbatini. Johnson started that week at World Number 56 and becomes the first player from outside the World Top 50 to win the Masters since the World Golf Ranking started 21 years ago. This first Major Championship win took Johnson to World Number 15.

Markus Brier - (Austria) Volvo China Open Shanghai Silport - Shanghai - China - 12th to 15th April, 2007 Austrian Markus Brier shot a final-round of 4-under-par 67 to win the Volvo China Open by five strokes at Shanghai Silport GC. Graeme McDowell of Northern Ireland (69), Andrew McLardy of South Africa (70), and Scott Hend of Australia (71) all tied for second at 279. Brier improved his Ranking by 89 positions to be placed at Nº 142.

Raphael Jacquelin - (France) BMW Asian Open Tomson Shanghai Pudong - Shanghai - China - 19th to 22nd April, 2007 Raphael Jacquelin triumphed at the BMW Asian Open by two shots from Denmarks Soren Kjeldsen with a 10-under-par score of 278, despite posting a final round of 73 on a wet and windy course. The Frenchman had led the tournament at the end of each day and his second European Tour win took him to Nº 61 with a rise of 43 places.

Charl Schwartzel - (South Africa) Open de Espana Centro Nacional de Golf - Madrid - Spain - 26th to 29th April, 2007 South African golfer Charl Schwartzel claimed his second European Tour title when he won the Open de Espana at the Centro Nacional de Golf in Madrid. The 22 year old carded a final round 67 for a 16 under par total of 272 to win by a shot from Indias Jyoti Randhawa. Charl Schwartzel broke into the World Top 50 for the first time with an improvement of 18 positions in the Ranking taking him to Nº 40.

Anton Haig - (South Africa) Johnnie Walker Classic Blue Canyon - Phuket - Thailand - 1st to 4th March, 2007 Anton Haig from South Africa sank a 10-foot birdie putt on the first hole of the sudden-death play-off to win the Johnnie Walker Classic at the Blue Canyon Country Club. This was after finishing tied on 13-under-par 275 with Richard Sterne and Oliver Wilson. Anton Haig broke into the Top 100 at 88th place which was a move upward of 197 places.

Wien-chong Llang - (China) Clariden Leu Singapore Masters Laguna National - Tampines - Singapore - 8th to 11th March, 2007 Wen-chong Llang became the second Chinese golfer to win on The European Tour when he defeated Malaysias Iain Steel at the first hole of a sudden-death play-off to claim the Clariden Leu Singapore Masters at the Laguna National Golf Club. The win takes Wien-chong Liang to Nº 78 with a move of 40 places.

Chapchat Nirat - (Thailand) TCL Classic Yalong Bay - Hainan Island - China - 15th to 18th March, 2007 Chapchat Nirat became the third Thai golfer to win on The European Tour with a final round of 71 at Yalong Bay Golf Club for his maiden victory in the TCL Classic, co-sanctioned with the Asian Tour. This win takes the 23 year-old to Nº 179, a rise of 131 places.

Tiger Woods - (USA) WGC - CA Championship Doral - Florida - USA - 22nd to 25th March, 2007 Tiger Woods won the World Golf Championships – CA Championship over Dorals Blue Monster Course, Florida. Woods began the final round with a four-stroke lead over his playing partner Brett Witterich. He secured a two stroke victory with a final round of 73. Brett Witterichs second place finish moved him to Nº 21 in the Rankings.

Henrik Stenson - (Sweden) Dubai Desert Classic Emirates - Dubai - United Arab Emirates - 1st to 4th February, 2007 Henrik Stenson birdied the 18th hole for a one stroke victory at the Dubai Desert Classic at the Emirates Golf Club ahead of World Nº 4 Ernie Els who was second, and World Nº 1 Tiger Woods who was tied for third with Niclas Fasth. Stenson climbed 4 places to Nº 10 and becomes the 65th player to have reached Top 10 status since the World Ranking began just under 21 years ago.

The win takes Peter Hedblom to Nº 147, a leap of 138 places.

Mikko Ilonen - (Finland) Enjoy Jakarta Astro Indonesia Open Damai Indah - Jakarta - Indonesia -15th to 18th February, 2007 Mikko Ilonen edged out Frankie Minoza of the Philippines, Shiv Kapur of India and Andrew Tampion of Australia to win the Indonesia Open by one stroke at Damai Indah Golf and Country Club in Jakarta. This first European Tour win ever by a Finn moves Mikko Ilonen to Nº 182, and a jump of 139 places.

Henrik Stenson - (Sweden) WGC - Accenture Match Play The Gallery - Dove Mountain - Tucson - Arizona - USA - 21st to 25th February, 2007 Henrik Stenson became the first Swede, and only the second European, to win a World Golf Championships event as he defeated the defending champion Geoff Ogilvy in the final of the WGC - Accenture Match Play at the Gallery Golf Club in Tucson, Arizona. He reached the highest World Ranking ever for a Swedish player as he moved 3 places to Nº 5, and bettering the 7th position achieved by Swedish Jesper Parnevik in May of 2000.

Ernie Els - (South Africa) South African Airways Open Humewood - Port Elizabeth - South Africa - 14th to 17th December, 2006 Ernie Els won the South African Airways Open at Humewood GC, at Port Elizabeth, by three strokes from compatriot and overnight leader Trevor Immelman. This was after a brilliant final round of seven under par 65 in blustery conditions. Ernie Els climbed 3 places to Nº 5 in the World Golf Ranking of 2006, a position he also held at the end of 2005.
