Tom Lewis - (England) Portugal Masters Victoria - Algarve - Portugal - 13th to 16th October, 2011 Englishman Tom Lewis gained his first European Tour win with his success in the Algarve having taken part in 96 events. 2011 Portugal Masters on the Victoria Course was played in lovely sunny weather in the Algarve. Although Tom Lewis has only played in three European Tour events it did not stop Englands newest star from playing final round 65 to streak clear of the field and take the Portugal Masters title by two strokes. The 20-year-old Tom Lewis, placed his name in the record book of the European Tour. Tom rose to prominence after co-leading the first round of the Open Championship earlier this summer. He had already been noticed when Tom as an amateur moved into the lead on the first day of the Open Championship. His final total score of 267 strokes was 2 in front of his nearest rival Rafael Cabrera-Bello of Spain. His World Ranking is now 413 and he lies in 75th position in the Race to Dubai.

The 34th TAP Open Golf Tournament will take place between the 12th and the 19th of November on the following courses in Vilamoura in the Algarve: Laguna, Pinhal, Old Course and the Victoria. Michael Hoey - (Northern Ireland) Madeira Islands Open Porto Santo - Madeira - Portugal - 19th to 22nd May, 2011 Michael Hoey claimed his second European Tour title with a two shot victory at the Madeira Islands Open. The 32 year old, whose previous win also came on Portuguese soil two years ago, fired a closing 71 to finish ten under par for the week at the stunning Seve Ballesteros-designed Porto Santo Golfe. The win took Hoey to World Ranking 220 and with an improvement of 154 places.
